Admissions Process

International Students and High School Students have different admissions processes.  All other students please follow the steps listed below.

1. Apply for General Admission

There is no application fee.

2. File FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid)

Required to receive financial aid.

3. Send Official Transcripts

Contact your high school and/or college/university to have official transcripts sent directly to BRCC using one of the two methods below.

4. Schedule an Appointment with an Academic Advisor

If you didn’t send transcripts to BRCC prior to advising appointment, please bring the following documentation for Placement Test Exceptions to your appointment. Eligible test scores and transcripts must be within the last 5 years.

  • Transcripts showing successful completion of College and/or High School English and/or Math classes (see academic advisor for further information).
  •  SAT: Scores 460+ in Reading & Writing; 510+ in Math. SAT tests taken prior to March 2016 must have a score of 500+ in Writing; 500+ in Reading.
  •  ACT: Scores 15+ in English & Reading; 19+ in Math
  •  GED: Scores 165+ in English; 155+ in Math

5. Take Placement Test (if directed by Academic Advisor)

English and Math Placement Testing is required of all students enrolling in a program of study or taking English or math classes unless you meet exception criteria. Non-native English speakers must take an ESL placement test.
