Connect to Succeed: Academic Success through Intense Engagement
Blue Ridge Community College’s proposed QEP, Connect to Succeed, is designed to improve students’ retention and success in six gateway courses by implementing academic support program for students. Connect to Succeed is designed to provide students the academic support they need to be successful in both their individual classes and overall college career.
Goals of Connect to Succeed
- Assist students in developing skills related to academic persistence
- Engage students in the learning process
- Connect students to College resources and support personnel who will scaffold them in the development and learning processes
Connect to Succeed Initiatives
- Provide academic resources designed to assist students in their academic journey.
- Connect students with course specific Engagement Coaches to strengthen retention and build student’s sense of belonging.
- Offer Supplemental Instruction (SI) – regularly scheduled, non-mandatory, out-of-class review sessions to improve academic performance.
