Pharmacy Technicians are trained to work in pharmacies assisting with both administrative and pharmacy work.

Graduating students are eligible to take the National Pharmacy Technician exam given through Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) that is required by the Virginia Board of Pharmacy.

About the Program

This program teaches the basics of pharmacology, laws and regulations, medication safety, quality assurance, compounding, medication order entry and fill process, inventory management and pharmacy billing and reimbursement.

Admission Requirements

  • Algebra strongly recommended
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proof of attendance at BRCC Healthcare Orientation Session
