Policies

  • Students must provide photo ID. 
  • Students must provide their 7-digit EMPLID (Student ID) number.
  • Cell phones and smart watches are not permitted while testing but are required for online test login.
  • Personal laptops may not be used for testing.
  • Electronic listening devices may not be used while testing, unless required for particular tests.
  • Students may not use personal calculators. Testing center will provide calculators if permitted by instructors.
  • Children not permitted.
  • No food allowed.
  • Drinks must have lids.

Monday-Thursday: 8:30 a.m.–7:00 p.m.
Friday: 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
Saturday (OPEN dates below): 10:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.

Testing Services

The Testing Center administers proctored course and certification testing on a walk-in, first-come, first-served basis for all schools within the Virginia Community College System (VCCS), and non-VCCS schools and agencies.

Fees

No fee for BRCC or VCCS students. Please contact the center about proctoring fees for non-VCCS schools and agencies.

Anatomy Placement Test (APT)

The Anatomy Placement test (APT) is available in the BRCC Testing Center and the Waynesboro Outpost. The APT may be taken twice a month.

  • Register for free access to self-study information and test information.
  • Beginning Fall 2022, BIO 141 (Anatomy and Physiology I) will have a new prerequisite before enrolling in the course.
    • You will need to either pass an Anatomy Placement Test (APT) with a 75% or earn a “C” or higher in BIO 101.
    • If you have already taken BIO 141 and earned “C“ or higher and wish to retake the course, you do not need to take the APT.
    • Students who do not wish to test may choose to enroll directly into BIO 101 instead of taking the APT.

Kaplan Nursing Admissions Test

Please arrive at least 3 hours before close to allow adequate time for Kaplan registration and testing (Monday-Thursday by 4:00 p.m., Friday by 1:30 p.m., and Saturday by noon).
