Placement Testing

English and Math placement testing is only available on a case-by-case basis. Please consult an academic advisor about the need for these placement tests. Go to www.brcc.edu/services/advising for appointment options and contact details.

Anatomy Placement Test (APT)

The Anatomy Placement test (APT) is available in the BRCC Testing Center and the Waynesboro Outpost. APT may be taken twice a month.

Register for free access to self-study information and test information.
BIO 141 (Anatomy and Physiology I) has a prerequisite before enrolling in the course.
- You will need to either pass an Anatomy Placement Test (APT) with a 70% or earn a “P” in NAS 2 or earn a “C” or higher in BIO 101.
- If you have already taken BIO 141 and earned “C“ or higher and wish to retake the course, you do not need to take the APT.
- Students who do not wish to test may choose to enroll directly into NAS 2 or BIO 101 instead of taking the APT.

Policies

Students must provide photo ID.
Students must provide their 7-digit EMPLID (Student ID) number.
Cell phones and smart watches are not permitted while testing but are required for online test login.
Personal laptops may not be used for testing.
Electronic listening devices may not be used while testing, unless required for particular tests.
Students may not use personal calculators. Testing center will provide calculators if permitted by instructors.
Children not permitted.
No food allowed.
Drinks must have lids.

Outpost Hours

The Outpost will be open Monday-Thursday from 8:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. (closed 1:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.) and Friday from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. For assistance during other times, you can visit us on campus, by phone at 540-453-0264, email at info@brcc.edu or online through our Virtual Reception.

Summer Hours

The Outpost will be operating under Summer Hours during the weeks of May 14^th – August 2^nd.

Monday – Thursday from 8:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. (closed from 1:00 p.m.-1:30 p.m. for lunch).
Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Closures

During the closures listed below, students are welcome to come to the main campus for their testing needs; or visit the Enrollment Zone on campus or enter the Virtual Reception Zoom Room for Admissions assistance.

The Online Outpost will be closed:

May 9: Closed from 8:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
May 10: Closed
May 14: Closed from 11:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
May 17: Closed
May 27: Memorial Day (College Closed)

Fall/Spring Testing Hours

The Online Outpost follows BRCC’s schedule for holidays and closings/delays.

Monday – Thursday: Course Testing: 8:45 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
All tests stop at 6:00 p.m.

Friday: Course Testing: 10:15 am – 1:30 p.m.
All tests stop at 2:00 p.m.
