Purpose

The Student Success Center at Blue Ridge Community College assists students in achieving their educational and career goals. We provide tools and resources to support students in overcoming barriers to success.

We can help you

  • Determine your skills, assets, and strengths to make a personalized career plan
  • Identify job openings
  • Arrange experiential learning opportunities
  • Polish up your résumé
  • Sharpen your interviewing skills
  • Address challenges related to learning differences or disabilities
  • Obtain reasonable accommodations and support for disabilities
  • Develop academic and study skills
  • Set academic and personal goals
  • Manage your time wisely, while staying organized
  • Understand your learning style
  • Improve your work, life, school balance
  • Complete the Single Stop screener if you need help with food, housing, insurance, childcare, etc.
  • Complete a SAP appeal, if you've lost your financial aid
  • Connect with other campus support services (Tutoring, Financial Aid, etc.)

Single Stop

Single Stop

Single Stop is a national nonprofit organization that helps connect individuals to financial, medical, housing, food, and employment benefits and resources. Single Stop connects individuals with comprehensive resources that alleviate barriers. It only takes about 10 minutes to use the confidential screening tool and a Single Stop staff member will follow-up with individuals once information is submitted.  Free screening tool; contact Wendy Smith for more information.
