Mission
This club will help to foster the advancement of Biology as a discipline, connect students interested in biological studies with other students, professors, and professionals in the field of biology, provide members opportunities to give back to the community through service projects, provide opportunities for members to increase their knowledge of biology in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.
Purpose
The purpose of the Biology Club is to:
- Increase interest in biology on the campus of Blue Ridge Community College and in the surrounding community.
- Print a quarterly Biology newsletter relating to scientific literature highlights in research and educational activities, scientific discoveries, outreach efforts, etc.
- Provides many opportunities for students to interact with the faculty and with each other.
- Help establish contacts with professionals in the life sciences.
- Advance knowledge of biology

Membership
- Is open to all faculty and students from Blue Ridge Community College (does not have to be a biology major)
- Includes a lead advisor and a co-advisor who shall be non-vetoing and non-paying members of the club.
- Includes office bearers, who will be students enrolled at BRCC.
- Will admit students without any discrimination regard to their race, religion, color, sex, age, sexual orientation, or national or ethnic origin.
Meetings
- Meetings shall be held once a month or when thought necessary by the officers.
- Club members will be notified of meetings in advance by emailing and posted notices.
