Make An Appointment

Students may make appointments with an academic advisor, disability services coordinator, transfer advisor, or the veterans and international student representative.

New Students

New students need to call (540) 453-2287 to register for a New Student Session for initial academic advising. 

Returning Students

Returning students may schedule appointments through a new system, Navigate, accessed through MY BRCC.  Instructions provided below; call (540) 453-2287 if you need assistance.

Navigate Student Scheduler Instructions

Note: You must use Google Chrome browser.

  1. Log into MyBRCC
  2. Click on the ‘Navigate Student’ icon
  3. Click on ‘Resources’ tab (left side of the page)
  4. Click on ‘People’ (middle of page under ‘Resources’) to see who is your Academic Advisor
  5. Click on ‘Appointments’ tab (left side of the page)
  6. Click on ‘Schedule an Appointment’ (blue button)
  7. Click ‘What type of appointment would you like to schedule?’
  8. Click the circle next to the type of appointment you would like to schedule then click ‘Answer Next Question’
  9. Click the circle next to the type of service you need for your Appointment then click ‘Done for Reason’
  10. Verify the Type of appointment and Service for your Appointment are correct then click ‘Continue to Next Step’
  11. Click ‘Pick a Location for your Appointment’
  12. Click the circle next to the Location for your Appointment then click ‘Answer Next Question’
  13. Click the circle next to your advisor then click ‘Done for Location and Staff’
  14. Verify the location and advisor for your appointment then click ‘Continue to Next Step’
  15. Select the day, followed by whether you would like to meet in the AM or PM; if no available times in the selected week, click on arrow button adjacent to dates to see next week’s availability.
  16. Select the time that you would like to meet then click ‘Continue to Next Step’
  17. Confirmation page – Ensure all of the information you have entered is correct (including phone numbers)
  18. In the comments section of the Confirmation Page, indicate the reason for the appointment (In-Person, Phone, or Zoom)
  19. Click ‘Confirm Appointment’ to save the appointment. An email reminder will be generated to you and your advisor.

Walk-in Appointments

Walk-ins are still welcome on a first-come, first-served basis for questions and issues that can be handled quickly. We encourage you to schedule appointments whenever possible to avoid waiting in line.
