Frequently Asked Questions

Who can use the BRCC Library and computers?

The BRCC functions similar to a public library as anyone can use our library and computers, obtain a library card, and check out library materials. A student computer lab is also available next to the library.

How do I get a library card?

For students and staff, your BRCC ID is your library card. For community users, please visit the information desk.

What is the checkout time for library materials, how do I renew items, and what do I do if I have been blocked?

Please see the Circulation Services page for this information

Is printing, including color printing, available?

Yes – all computers are networked to a printer. Black and white prints are free for students. Color printing is available to students on the computers next to the Information desk, but is limited to class assignments only and will be strictly monitored.

Does the library have a scanner/copier? Fax machine?

Yes – the scanner allows users to copy and print items or scan them to an email address. It is located next to the Information Desk by the printer. Students can use the fax machine for college purposes. Please ask at the Information Desk for more information.

Use the Ask a Librarian online form. We will request it, free of charge, through our interlibrary loan service. We will contact you when your book or article is available.

What if I can’t find anything?

Ask for help!! The Information Desk always has someone available to help and connect you with the information you are seeking. YOU are the reason the library staff is here, so don't leave empty handed!

If you are off-campus, you can ask a librarian or use LRC Live, a 24/7 help service that enables you and a librarian to chat online in real-time. This service allows the librarian to share Web pages and other helpful materials to assist you with your research.
