Food and Drink in Library

Houff Library is committed to providing a comfortable, clean, safe environment for all of our patrons. We also recognize the need to eat and drink while studying. Therefore, Houff Library has the following guidelines regarding food and drink in the library:

  • “Leave No Trace” is our primary focus. Please clean up after yourselves and be mindful of those around you to ensure they have a comfortable environment in which to study.
  • If you have a spill of any nature, please inform the information desk.
  • Please limit messy foods, foods with strong odors, or open plates of food (pizza, salads, soups) to the seating in the front part of the library around the elevator.
  • Prepackaged snacks, wrapped snacks and drinks in closed containers are allowed throughout the library.
  • Only drinks in sturdy, closed containers are permitted around computers in both the library and Open Computer Lab.

Interpretation of these guidelines is at the discretion of library or help desk staff.

Tobacco Use in Library

Per college policy, use of tobacco in any form, including chewing tobacco and vapor cigarettes, is prohibited on campus, except in outdoor designated areas.
