Costs and Payment Options

Tuition and Fees:

Each student will be required to pay tuition and fees for the courses in which they enroll. BRCC charges tuition and fees on a per-credit hour basis, so your exact costs will vary based on the number of credits in which you enroll. Please see our full Tuition and Fee rates for more information.

Students will also be required to purchase textbooks. The cost of textbooks vary depending on the courses taken. Books are purchased in one of two ways:

  • IncludEd books: Some courses have the textbook built in to the Canvas Course through an initiative called IncludEd. These virtual textbooks are offered at a lower rate than traditional book purchases and the additional fee is billed with the classes. Students who wish to purchase a physical copy of these books may do so at a reduced cost through the BRCC Bookstore.
  • Direct purchase: Books for courses that are not a part of the IncludEd initiative will be available at the BRCC Bookstore. To determine the books required for your courses, you can visit the BRCC Bookstore web site, and look up each course by using the course number and section.

We estimate that the average student will spend approximately $679 per semester for a 15 credit hour course load. Keep in mind, this an estimate and may vary greatly depending on the number of credits taken as well as the specific courses.

Other ESTIMATED Costs:

Each student’s cost of living will vary depending on where they live, whether they live with parents or share expenses with others, and many other lifestyle factors. The numbers below represent the average estimated annual costs for various expenses based on a student taking a course load of 15 credits per semester. Please note that these costs are based on 9 months of attendance (e.g. Fall and Spring semesters) and would be higher if the student also attends the summer term.
