WSCE ADJUNCT FACULTY: Business seminars

Carol W. Hamilton

a Lecturer in the College of Business at James Madison University, teaches management, interpersonal skills, and strategy.  She has consulted with over 120 small business owners during the last five years and co-authored a volunteer-based business curriculum that sold to a national microenterprise organization.  She has recently co-authored a business plan guide, Simple Solutions: Crafting a Business Plan for aspiring entrepreneurs.

 

William L. Hopkins

heads a consulting firm in Harrisonburg with clients that include Fortune 1000 companies and three of the nation’s “top five” homebuilders.  He holds national recognition as a speaker and management consultant.

 

Ann P. Leatherwood

is Coordinator of Community Resources and Special Programs for BRCC’s Division of Workforce Services and Continuing Education.  She teaches an array of non-credit courses and draws on her many experiences in management and supervision to ensure that her seminars effectively address the challenges found in today’s business world.

 

C. Lee Mayfield

is an Instructor in the School of Communication Studies at James Madison University where he also serves as the coach of the nationally recognized JMU speech team.  He has extensive experience in the area of public speaking, especially working with individuals who are apprehensive about public presentations.  He has been teaching and coaching for 16 years.

 

Tracy L. McAfee

is an Assistant Professor of Speech at BRCC.  He has taught communication skills such as public speaking, interpersonal communication, small group effectiveness, as well as professional communication that includes conflict management, evaluations, and listening skills.  He has also been a corporate mediator and a consultant for several companies in Ohio.

 

Steven A. Rollman

is a Professor of Communication Studies at James Madison University. He has extensive experience conducting training sessions for business groups, educators, health workers, government workers and others. He has been studying and teaching about nonverbal communication for three decades.

 

Toni S. Whitfield,

Assistant Professor at JMU, teaches organizational communication and business and professional communication courses. She has been a professional trainer for several years and her clients include the US Navy, the International Right of Way Corporation, McDonald's, the International Taekwondo Alliance, and numerous others. She has also owned a promotions company.
