Career
Readiness Certificate
Virginia's Career
Readiness Certificate (CRC) is an assessment-based
credential that gives employers and career seekers a uniform
measure of key workplace skills.
Courses in support of the CRC are
offered each semester.
Needs Assessments
We
conduct on-site research designed to identify your specific
training needs.
Pre-employment Training
Through training and orientation activities designed around your
specific employment criteria in collaboration with your Human
Resources team, we help you improve your chances of hiring the
right people.
"When
we decided to locate in the Shenandoah Valley, we turned to
BRCC for pre-employment training. The
training--tailored to our specifications--helped us select
employees and provide them with a clear understanding of our
expectations."

Diebold, Inc.
From open enrollment classes in supervision, computer security,
and Quickbooks to support of the Small Business Development
Center, WSCE values the role of small business in the Valley and
recognizes the unique problems small businesses have when trying
to develop their workforce.
Special Certification Programs
In collaboration with employers, certification programs can be
designed to meet your specific training needs.
Also, a variety of existing
certificates are available as part of our
regularly-scheduled courses.
Using American College Testing (ACT)
WorkKeys,
trained staff work with you to identify basic skills required in
various jobs and assess employee skill levels to identify where
gaps exist. We then provide training to close skills gaps.
"Using ACT's Work Keys skills analysis system, BRCC staff
worked with us to identify critical tasks and skills for
several of our jobs and to assess employee skill levels.
We were then able to utilize this in our training program
for new and current employees allowing us to streamline and
document training."
