with the Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation?
Fulfill the eight hour education requirement with this class!
Learn the statutes and regulations governing contractors in
Virginia. Text included in course fee.
This class is now a pre-licensing education
requirement for prospective Virginia contractors as required by
statute and the upcoming emergency Board of Contractors
regulations. The eight hour course, recognized by the Department
of Professional and Occupational Regulation, meets the
requirements of those who must attend a remedial session. The
class presents essential information relating to the practice of
contracting within the Commonwealth. It is not examination
preparation although a student should be quite well prepared to
take Part 1 of the contractor examinations after successfully
completing this course. The course is for contractors who have
practiced in the profession for many years and are now seeking
to either upgrade an existing license or are entering the
contracting field from out of state. Course discussion will
include how to perform various tasks such as customer selection,
estimating, marketing, working with building inspectors,
residential contract, and obtaining signed change orders. The
two texts, Contactor’s Business Reference Manual, and Virginia
Contractor’s Law, are included in course fee.
