Planning Your Schedule
If you need help planning your schedule, academic
advisors are available in the Counseling Center. Students enrolled
in a program of study should also contact their faculty advisor.
Selecting Courses
To select your courses and plan your schedule, you will need the
BRCC Catalog or current
curriculum sheet and the
class schedule.
- Locate your program of study in the
curriculum
section of the catalog.
- Decide how many courses you will be able to take. Expect 1 hour of classroom time plus
1 - 2 hour preparation time for each credit you take. A full-time load is
12 credits or more.
- Search for the courses you need in the schedule of
classes.
- Check the
course
descriptions in the College Catalog to see if there are any
prerequisite courses you must complete first.
- If there are multiple sections of a class, choose
the best day and time to take each course. The course search
feature in the Student Information System
(SIS) allows you to search for classes by name or
time of day, etc. It will also let you know if a class is full.
- After you have selected all your courses
for the semester, you are ready to register.
