Veterinary Technology Club
Membership
All students enrolled in
the veterinary technology program are automatic members of the club. The
club is a student chapter of NAVTA (North American Veterinary Technician
Association) and the VALVT (Virginia Association of Licensed Veterinary
Technicians). These organizations are the national and state professional
groups representing veterinary technicians.
Goals
- To promote the
profession of veterinary technology
- To educate and inform
the public about responsible pet care
- To enhance the
human/companion animal bond
- To facilitate good
relations between 1st, 2nd, and distance education Veterinary
Technology students at BRCC
Activities
- Support local SPCAs
- NVTW (National
Veterinary Technician Week) 3rd week in October
- Display window in
"F" building, other public relation functions
- Student events
- Welcome 1st year student
picnic in August
- Luncheons/parties
throughout the year to encourage class interaction
- Regular meetings
- Class yearbook
- T-shirt projects
- Must have a club member
as a representative to the SGA
