ADVISING NOTES for HISTORY TRANSFER
Select from:
- HIS 111-112
- *HIS 121-122
(Note regarding the transferability of HIS-122 to James
Madison University: JMU's VCCS 2000-2001 Transfer Guide states that
both Blue Ridge Community College HIS 121 and 122 courses must be taken in
order to receive equivalent credit for the JMU course GHIS225. Students
will receive four credits for taking GHIS225 and two credits as electives.
Therefore, students will not lose credits by taking both courses.
However, students must take both courses to obtain the GHIS225 equivalent
course credit. If a student takes only one of the two courses, then three
credits will be transferred as elective credit, but history majors will
need to enroll in and complete GHIS225 at JMU. We advise you to either
take both HIS 121 and 122 at Blue Ridge Community College, or to
wait until you get to JMU and take GHIS225 there.
Courses may be taken out of
sequence.
