Students need to complete the first half of a
science before enrolling in the second half. Students may take a sequence,

economics, geography, political science, psychology and sociology.
For completion of a B.A. degree in Art
History, the following recommendations are made:
- Foreign Language (a requirement for the
major): The foreign language may be satisfied by successful completion of
the second semester of the intermediate level of the student’s chosen
language, or by placing out of that language at JMU through the Department
of Foreign Languages placement test.
