Transfer Advising

Transfer Program

BRCC's College/University Transfer Program is an Associates in Arts and Sciences (A.A.&S.) degree program designed for students who plan to transfer to a four year school and pursue a bachelor's degree.

Virginia state institutions generally give preference in admission to students transferring with the A.A.&S. degree over those who transfer courses only.

Admissions Agreements

BRCC and the Virginia Community College System (VCCS) have admission agreements   with many Virginia four year schools, including guaranteed admissions agreements.

Plan Ahead

If you choose the transfer program, you should decide on a major and a college or university as soon as possible.  Make an appointment with an advisor in the Counseling Center before registering for classes to help you plan your courses according to the appropriate transfer advising guide and transfer agreement.  Transfer advisors from JMU and Bridgewater College are available
