Loans for Students and Parents
Blue Ridge Community College offers a variety of borrowing options for students and families. You must first complete the FAFSA to determine what, if any, grant aid is available before choosing to borrow loans. You are also encouraged to complete the Scholarship Application before applying for loans. However, when college costs are not met with other types of aid and the student is unable to pay their education costs out-of-pocket, student and/or parent loans are a helpful resource in financing educational expenses. Visit the links below for more information about the availability of student loans, as well as directions to apply.
Students MUST be enrolled at least half-time (6 or more credit hours) to be eligible for Federal Loans.

The Financial Aid Office strongly recommends that students exhaust all federal aid options before applying for loans through outside lenders. We also caution students to be aware that alternative loans are credit-based, often carry variable interest rates, and cannot be consolidated with federal loans.
