Nursing Instructor/Assistant Professor

Required qualifications include a Master’s degree in Nursing, acute care hospital experience within the last five years. Position will include classroom teaching (with a focus on fundamentals, med/surg, and pharmacology), clinical supervision of students, online teaching, and participation in governance.  The successful candidate will demonstrate dedication to teaching, an understanding of the community college mission and environment, and competence in the use of instructional technology. Community college or university teaching experience is strongly preferred.  In addition to teaching, responsibilities include academic advising; service & leadership on college committees; participation in scholarly and professional activities; mentoring adjunct faculty within the discipline; development and support of courses and programs; community service; and institutional service. Teaching assignments may include a combination of day and evening classes at one or more locations served by the College.  Candidates should be familiar with, and supportive of, the College’s Mission, Vision, Values, and Strategic Directions.  Depending on credentials and experience, position may be filled at Instructor or Assistant Professor level, with anticipated salary range $40,061 - $67,758.  Position is full-time, 9-month (twenty-four pay), renewable appointment with full state benefits.  Start date August 16, 2014.
