MY BRCC

MY BRCC is a portal you will use to access the following online programs:

  • Blackboard - a course management system used by many instructors to deliver course materials
  • VCCS SIS8 (Student Information System) - used for registration, tuition payment, viewing grades and other academic information.
  • Email - Virginia Community College System's email system that you will use to communicate with your instructor.

Logging In for the First Time

Before logging into My BRCC for the first time, you must set your password and retrieve your username.  Here's how to do it:

  1. In a web browser, go to My BRCC at https://br.my.vccs.edu/
  2. Click "Look up your username and set your password".
  3. Enter your first and last names as they appear on official college documents (grade reports, etc), enter your birthdate in the format shown, and enter your social security number.  Click "Search".
  4. A new page will appear where you may set your initial password and your security question.  Please follow the on-screen instructions to complete these steps, and then click the "Next" button.
  5. A new page will appear displaying your username, emplid, and institution.  Please write down, save, or print this information and keep it in a safe place.  Click the "please log in" link near the bottom of this page to be sent back to the My BRCC login page, where you can now login by entering your assigned username and the password you selected in step four.

Here's what you'll see after logging on.  You'll just click the link to the program you want to access.

First, let's take a quick look at VCCS SIS8.

  • Links to MY BRCC are readily available on the BRCC Website: http://www.brcc.edu from the entrance page as as text link or as an option in the dropdown Quick Links menu.
  • If you have problems with your username or password, please contact the student help desk.
  • Don't forget to log out of My BRCC when you are finished, especially if you are working in a public lab.
