Absolute Beginning Acoustic Guitar

Banjo Setup - YOU Can Do It!          

With a little time and attention to detail, you can perform simple steps to make your banjo easier to play and acquire your desired tone. Bring your banjo and tools: multi-tip screwdriver, adjustable wrench and needle-nose pliers. Learn how to: install a new set of strings; tighten the head; position the bridge; adjust truss and coordinator rods; and select tail pieces and angles. An excellent choice before taking Banjo I.

Created for prior banjo students of Jeff Hensley, or banjo enthusiasts who want to pick up the beat, this course offers six weeks of “high energy bluegrass tunes.”  Be ready to learn new rolls and techniques, while receiving an introduction to the next realm of pickin’ and grinnin’ 5-string banjo theory.  You’ll be glad you kept practicing!

Beginning Fiddle:  Hang with the Band!     

If you watch fiddle players in all your favorite bands, and think you’d like to be one of them - you can learn from the best.  Malia Furtado, fiddler extraordinaire with Circa Blue, has been playing fiddle since she was three!  This course provides an introduction to basic fiddle techniques, simple fiddle melodies - including popular tunes - with an introduction to band playing options so you can play along with your favorite local group – next to your slow-jam friends!  Bring your own fiddle.

Beginning Mandolin: Make it Ring!

Pick and grin your way through this fun beginner's course, covering a variety of music genres, including bluegrass.
