Electronics Soldering Training Program

Looking for short-term, career training that can lead to a job in the high-tech electronics industry? Learn about Surface Mount Technology (SMT) and high reliability soldering of electronic circuit boards used in products in the aerospace, defense, and telecommunications industries. BRCC’s new Electronics Soldering program was developed in response to local industry requests. Classes meet Mondays & Wednesdays, 5 - 9 pm in the BRCC Technology Building, Room T210. Part 1:  Introduction to Electronics Soldering
Meets: Four Mondays & Wednesdays, Feb 16-25

Part 2:  IPC-A-610 - Certified IPC Specialist Training
Meets: Five sessions, Mondays & Wednesdays, Mar 2-16

Part 3:  J-STD-001 - Certified IPC Specialist Training

Introduction to 3D Printing and Rapid Prototyping

Additive manufacturing, or 3D printing, is becoming more widespread in all types of manufacturing, both for rapid prototyping as well as actual production. As the costs for this technology continue to drop, many companies are asking “Is 3D Printing right for us?” This two-hour session provides an overview of this technology and how it can benefit your company. Attendees may send a .STL or .SLDPRT file of a part they would like to have printed (maximum part dimensions: 10” x 10” x 12”). Call 540/453-2215 for instructions on sending part files.

Snap-On NC3 Multimeter Certification

The SnapOn Electrical Measurement (Multimeter) Certification course offers training on the Digital Multi-Meter (DMM) and Digital Volt Ohm Meter (DVOM) widely used in industries such as manufacturing and automotive maintenance. This course covers:

  • settings on the meter
  • meter display readings
  • proper terminal connections
  • basic electrical testing with the meter
