Management Systems Auditor Training Course

Today’s management systems are made up of more than just quality requirements (ISO 9001/13485, etc.).  Additional integrated system requirements include environmental (EPA/ISO 14001), health and safety (OSHA/OHSAS 18001), FDA cGMP’s, customer agreements and others. This course, presented by the American Society for Quality Blue Ridge Section, in partnership with Blue Ridge Community College Continuing Education, is designed for: new and current Internal Auditors, Audit Team Leaders, Audit Program Managers, CQAs, CQEs, CMQ/OEs, RABQSA Auditors, IRCA Auditors, supply chain personnel, Risk Managers, Improvement Managers, EHS Managers, and other individuals interested in improving their auditing knowledge and skills.  Topics include: audit fundamentals; auditor competencies; making sense of integrated management systems; the six stages of a professional audit; auditor communication and conflict resolution skills; quality tools and techniques auditors need to know. Note: For those interested in preparing for the ASQ Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) examination in December 2014, or June or December 2015, the course covers the following areas in the CQA Body of Knowledge: Audit Fundamentals, Audit Process, Quality Tools and Techniques.

Electronics Soldering Training Program

Looking for short-term, career training that can lead to a job in the high-tech electronics industry? Learn about Surface Mount Technology (SMT) and high reliability soldering of electronic circuit boards used in products in the aerospace, defense, and telecommunications industries. BRCC’s new Electronics Soldering program was developed in response to local industry requests. Summer classes meet Mondays and Wednesdays from 6 to 10 pm and Fall classes meet Mondays & Wednesdays, 5 - 9 pm in the BRCC Technology Building, Room T212. Instructor: Jim Richerson

Introduction to 3D Printing and Rapid Prototyping NEW!

Additive manufacturing, or 3D printing, is becoming more widespread in all types of manufacturing, both for rapid prototyping as well as actual production. As the costs for this technology continue to drop, many companies are asking “Is 3D Printing right for us?” This two-hour session provides an overview of this technology and how it can benefit your company.
