Arboretum

Mountain Species Site

In this site are found trees and shrubs that are typical of any mountainous region of Virginia. It includes some distinctive evergreen conifers as well as deciduous species. Many of these species are more typical of northern states. A collection of wild azaleas donated to the BRCC Arboretum by the W. Va. chapter of the American Rhododendron Society adds Spring color. Six species of pines grow at the lower edge of this site.
