Vet Tech is a competitive program with a separate program admission process in addition to BRCC general admissions.  Campus and distance program admission requirements vary.

Program Options

On-Campus Veterinary Technology Program

The on-campus program is a full time, 2-year program.

Distance Education Veterinary Technology Program

The distance education program is a part-time, 3-year program transmitted to various locations throughout Virginia.

Facilities

The vet tech program has two laboratories, a treatment area, surgery, radiology suite, and both a small and large animal facility. 

Equipment

State of the art digital radiology, ultrasound, surgical laser, therapy laser, dental units, multi-parameter anesthetic monitors, ventilator and blood analyzers.

Licensing Exams

Graduates of the A.A.S. programs are eligible to take the Veterinary Technician National Examination (VTNE).

The on-campus program’s three year pass rate is 99% from July 1, 2014 to June 30, 2017.  For that period, 95 first time candidates of the 95 eligible took the VTNE.

The distance education program’s three year pass rate is 100% from July 1, 2014 to June 30, 2017.  For that period, 43 first time candidates of the 47 eligible took the VTNE.

BRCC's Veterinary Technology on-campus and distance education programs are accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association.
