Opportunities for Support
The
BRCC Annual Fund
supports projects and programs of the highest
priority to Blue Ridge Community College. As
you know, Blue Ridge receives state and local
funds to assist with operating costs, but those
funds are scarce, and private support is
critical in maintaining our margin of
excellence. The Annual Fund is the foundation
upon which this crucial private support is
built. Investments in the BRCC Annual Fund help
to improve the quality of the educational
environment for students, faculty, staff and the
entire community.
BRCC's fiscal year ends June 30th.
Endowment funds are
never eroded. Every dollar given to endowment
remains permanently invested,
allowing future needs to be met exclusively from
the funds' investment earnings. You may make a gift to benefit any
currently established
BRCC Educational Foundation endowment.
In addition, for a gift of $25,000, you may establish an endowment to benefit
a College program
of your own choosing.
The BRCC Educational
Foundation hosts a number of special events each
year, and the public is invited and encouraged
to attend and show their support for Blue Ridge
Community College. These friend-building
events help to increase and improve awareness of
the Educational Foundation and College
activities.
The BRCC Educational Foundation recognizes all donors
for their support of education. Donors will receive 2008 giving credit
for checks that are mailed and bear a postmark of December 31, 2008 or
earlier. Gifts with postmarks of January 1, 2009 or later will be
posted to the donor's 2009 giving record (per IRS rules and regulations).
The Blue Ridge Vision Society
recognizes friends who have made commitments to BRCC in their estate plans,
and the President's Council recognizes friends with annual gifts of $1,000
or more. All gifts, no matter what the amount, make a meaningful
impact on our community.
